I have always loved watching the swimming portion of all championships and I'm delighted for....... Singapore who had hosted the inaugural Southeast Asia Swimming Championships from May 28 to June 17, making it the first multi-discipline aquatics event held here that will feature four of the five aquatics disciplines (swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo) under world governing body Fina. About 300 athletes from 10 regional countries are expected to compete. Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The biennial meet is the brainchild of Singapore Swimming Association president Jeffrey Leow, who said the main motivation for the event was to give athletes in the region a high-level meet besides the SEA Games to compete at.-> Such a wonderful idea! How many of you have known our athletes in these discipline other than those who represented nationally and I'm glad that they are now given a chance to compete and showcase their skills as well. Not much of my words can emphasize how 'hardworking' our athletes have been. So proud of everyone of them. CHEERS! If you think you might be on par. Here's the qualifying timings.
Here's their videos! Swimming - My favorite! I still remembered the time I represented my schools for swimming competitions and I was competing against the club swimmers. The excitement, heart thumping, emotions raging through me as I bend forward on the platform hands against the sides waiting for the gun shot, and upon that, I leaped into the air into the water and at that moment I felt like I was drowning. The first time my hands were moving faster than my brain, no time to check out the competitor beside me, each time my breathing was met with water from all sides, no opportunity to breathe and just moving forward, each stoke never ending and finally the end. My arms were sore! Thank God I was alive. (I will never forget that feeling! Amazing!) 200m backstroke - Women (LIM MEAGAN SHENHUI) 200m backstroke- Men (NG KAIWEE RAINER; QUAH ZHENGWEN) 50m breaststroke - Men (LAM WEIXIONG PARKER; KHOO CHIEN YIN LIONEL) 50m butterfly - Women(ONG CHUI BIN MYLENE) 100m butterfly - Women (TAO LI; LIM MEAGAN SHENHUI) 100m butterfly - Men (JERRY YONG ; NG KAIWEE RAINER) 100m Freestyle - Men (YEO KAIQUAN DANNY; ONG KAIYI RUSSELL) Synchronized swimming - I have always wanted to try this! Diving (TWINS MARK & TIMOTHY LEE) 1m springboard - Men & Women Synchronized diving - Men & Women Water Polo Day 5 - Women - Singapore VS Indonesia Singapore 5-3 Indonesia Water Polo Day 5 - Men - Singapore VS Indonesia Singapore 7-6 Indonesia Here's the link if you want to check out our athletes profile I'm so proud of all of you! CHEERS!!!!! |
'Tis the gift to be loved and that love to return, 'Tis the gift to be taught and a richer gift to learn, And when we expect of others what we try to live each day, Then we'll all live together and we'll all learn to say, 'Tis the gift to have friends and a true friend to be, 'Tis the gift to think of others not to only think of "me", And when we hear what others really think and really feel, Then we'll all live together with a love that is real.
