To know your passion you have to experiment

These days I have been going through in my mind what do I have passion in and trying to make my life more colorful and meaningful.
Read this in one of the random emails that I get from time to time.
Inspired me and hope it inspires you too!
Sharing what God has bless you with :)

To know your passion you have to experiment.
Sometimes you just can't know until you try. Once you have a list of possible interests get out into the world and try them out. Here are some opportunities that will let you try out different experiences before you commit.

  • Join a not-for-profit organization where you can get various responsibilities and be involved while not giving up your day job. Pick an organization which has a mission that's close to your heart.
  • Browse around the internet for volunteering opportunities. A good website for that is http://www.sgcares.org and http://www.youth.sg
  • If you're a student, look up AIESEC - international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential, and join it
  • Contact people who are doing the things that you find interesting. Explain your situation, and ask them questions about what they do. Try to shadow them while they work or ask if you can work for them for free for some amount of time. People are mostly generous, you might be surprised by the response.
  • Read everything you can get your hands on about the subjects you listed. You will get bored quickly about areas you are not so passionate about, and will feel energized and fascinated about the new information on topics close to your heart.
Most importantly Start Somewhere.
Step by Step. Enjoy the process.
Don't let it just be a thought.
